Transforming lives through quality education and 21st century skills in rural and tribal communities of North Gujarat since 2012

The Good Human Being Foundation (TGHBF) came into existence on 21st February 2012 with the prime focus to provide quality education for the interior rural and tribal areas of Gujarat. Our founders left their lucrative settled roles in higher education in the state capital, as they were highly inspired by the cluster-based rural development model – PURA (Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas) given by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam for the dream of Bharat to become a developed nation.
Dr. Kalam believed that strengthening the rural sector and villages is essential for making India a developed nation. While he identified many areas for improvement, we chose to focus specifically on quality education for rural and tribal areas, targeting students in Grade 5 to Grade 10 (ages 10-16 years). TGHBF has four focus areas: Quality Education, 21st Century Skills, Rural Development, and the Contributory Personality.
Over the past 13 years, we have been working tirelessly in the North Gujarat region, specifically in the Sabarkantha district, covering talukas including Posina, Khedbrahma, Vijaynagar, and Idar. We are also open to implementing certain interventions at the India level. Our beneficiaries come from very humble backgrounds, primarily attending government schools and Ashram Shala (tribal schools) in the interior parts of India.
To prepare Rural and Tribal underprivileged new generations for the unpredictable future towards fulfillment and livelihood.
We envision a future where every rural and tribal child has access to quality education, 21st century skills, and the confidence to become a contributor to society and the nation.
TGHBF sincerely aspires to contribute to the development of sustainable ecosystems for underprivileged new generations by exploring various scalable, replicable frameworks.
We reach out to Kalam Fellows - first to unearth students having special potential or interest in areas like Making, Tech, Creativity, Writing, Art, etc. - from the rural-tribal underprivileged sections through our various interventions. We then provide direction, mentorship, connections, and resources to the Kalam Fellows.
To empower rural and tribal students through:
We work with and empower local communities, using local language (Gujarati) and local people to ensure maximum impact and sustainability.
Value education plays a crucial role in molding personality and developing contributory mindset in young minds.
We constantly evolve our programs based on feedback, external audits, and best practices from around the world.
We believe in collaborative efforts with individuals, corporates, trusts, hospitals, and community leaders to create lasting impact.
